Colm works on a wide range of research, mainly with industry partners. Some notable projects he’s enjoyed with COFS include subsea pipeline restraint using pipe clamping mattresses (PCMs) and rock berms, drag anchor-berm interactions, suction caisson performance, riser-seabed interactions with fibre optic sensing, and spudcan-seabed impact studies.

Juliano is a Research Fellow working on a range of research projects that investigate anchoring systems for floating offshore wind. He brings 9+ years of academic and industry experience in both onshore and offshore geotechnical engineering. His main research interests are installation aspects of driven monopiles and the installation and in-service response of helical anchors.

Zhechen’s expertise relates to offshore geotechnical engineering, hydrodynamic engineering and structural design, and data mining. His current research topics are relevant to offshore pipelines, cables and pile foundations, both for application in oil and gas infrastructure and renewable energy generation.

Ulysse’s research focuses on the characterisation of the seabed and Quaternary geology in tropical environments, through the acquisition and integration of bathymetry, seismic and geotechnical data.

Yumeng’s research focuses on strain localisations in sensitive soils. In particular, he is interested in exploring the characteristics of shear bands in clays through numerical simulations (with the non-local method) and physical modelling (with the Particle Image Velocimetry technique), aiming to enhance the precision and reliability of simulation methodologies in this field.

Francisco is a Research Fellow working primarily on suction embedded plate anchors (SEPLAs) for floating offshore structures. His research interests include both physical and numerical modelling of the installation and in‑service response of offshore foundation and anchor systems. He brings extensive experience in geotechnical centrifuge modelling and offshore geotechnical consulting.
