LRET 2011 Workshop

In an initiative organised by the Lloyd's Register Educational Trust, leading academic researchers from around the world gathered in London on the 6th - 7th September 2011, to identify future research challenges in areas of global importance.

The workshop was hosted by University College London, one of The LRET Research Centres of Excellence in consortium with Harbin Engineering University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and is the 3rd in a series which brings together representatives from some 25 LRET research centres.

Research themes under discussion were Deep Water Challenges, Climate Change, Nuclear Energy and Human Factors. Industry experts added to the impressive pool of academics who led the discussions, with significant contributions from all workshop delegates.

The Chairs of each of the four sessions are reporting back to The LRET with recommendations of up to 6 topics which delegates identified as priorities for future research funding.
